In the development of Chinese painting,Figure painting as an important factor for the painting itself also has a very important impact.Therefore,narrative painting is the main part of figure painting part.In primitive times,people through the way of painting and record exchange.Then came the text,narrative painting and text complement each other.This is the process of narrative painting from production to development.Although there was doubt on narrative painting in the following dynasties.Because it has the function of cultural transmission narrative painting is still rapid development.Therefore,in order to better understand this kind of painting,we should classify the rich narrative painting.I will classify from two aspects.One is the "content",and the other is the"method".The content is divided into three aspects.They are sermons,literature,and custom.I also divide the methods into two categories.They are the composition and types of painting.After this classification,I believe that the understanding of narrative painting will be more profound and there is also a great help for artists create a painting.
