The Sino-Vietnam suzerain-vassal relation in the Qing dynasty is close contact.In 1804,Qing dynasty recognized Nguyen Phuc Anh was the emperor of the Vietnam,which marked The Sino-Vietnam suzerain-vassal relation was formally established the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam sent diplomatic corps to Qing dynasty conventionally after that.But when the Taiping revolutionary movement break out,the road between China and Vietnam was blocked,which result in Vietnam had to stop pay tribute to China for sixteen years.Nguyen dynasty sent tributary mission,led by Lijun,Nguyen Sixian,Huang Bing,to China until 1868.This pay tributary was a four times tribute at the same time activity.It's not only the symbol of The Sino-Vietnam suzerain-vassal relation recovery,but also the first time the Vietnam pay tribute to China after Vietnam be invaded by France.This tribute was a important event in the history of Sino-Vietnam relation during late Qing dynasty,which was of great significance to the development of the Sino-Vietnam suzerain-vassal relation and friendly contacts between people of tow country.The Sino-Vietnam suzerain-vassal relation recover,however,the western powers invade oriental countries gradually,the Sino-Vietnam suzerain-vassal relation was decline day by day,it came to an end till Vietnam fell into a colony of France in 1885.This paper just on the basis of predecessors' research,use the literature of Qing dynasty of China's diplomatic envoys from Vietnam and other relevant historical data,try to discuss the historical background,route and process,activities,functions and influence of this tributary mission,in order to enhance the understanding of the Sino-Vietnam suzerain-vassal relation and social situation in late Qing dynasty.This paper is mainly divided into five chapters.The first chapter explains the historical background and the preparatory work before this tribute.It is a diplomatic activity that under the new situation,China and Vietnam face the western powers invade together.The second chapter,discusses route and process,escort,accommodation,the members got sick and even die of the disease during the journey.The third chapter discusses the activities,functions.This tribute in addition to the basic functions of political diplomacy,also has the exchange of military intelligence,economic trade and cultural exchanges functions.The fourth chapter according to Vietnam envoys“eye of the exotic”observation and record,sum up the social situation in late Qing dynasty especially the social damage after war and the history of western powers to force into mainland China.Summarize the impressions of the Qing dynasty palace life and the observation of the current politics and comments at the same time.The fifth chapter comments the results and historical effect of this tribute.It focus on the great significance to the recovery and development of the Sino-Vietnam suzerain-vassal relation.Last talk about the envoys play What kind of role in Sino-Vietnam relation,the internal Relationship between came to China and their personal career development,ups and downs.
