The research on the history of fine arts courses in Shanghai fine arts institute has been organized into a system.limited by the relative lack of information,there is little research on the system of designing history courses.And most of them carry out special research on a certain design theory,such as patterning.To study the design idea of a teacher in Shanghai art institute;To study the design theory of a certain historical period in Shanghai art institute.These studies are very professional but relatively single in dimension,so it is difficult to grasp the overall situation of design history theory courses in Shanghai art institute from the whole picture,and it is also difficult to reveal the deep logic of discipline and theoretical development behind them.At the same time,in these studies,the era in which the theory developed is described only as the background,and there is a lack of research on the relationship between the era background and the theory development.Based on this,this paper,based on the social background at that time,analyzes the root causes of the germination of design history theory courses,and points out that industrial salvation has become a broad consensus,which is the root cause of the emergence and development of design history theory courses in Shanghai art institute.However,the localization of design history theory courses in Shanghai art institute has adapted to the national conditions,promoted the germination and development of design history theory courses,and is an important way to improve the discipline development.It is further pointed out that the localization of design history course in Shanghai art institute is the inevitable result of " emphasizing Taoism" in traditional culture.In terms of the scope of material selection,this paper starts from the two dimensions of theory and practice,and studies the design practice courses in addition to studying the related subject materials of design theory.it is pointed out that the intersection and interaction between practical courses(including process practice courses and pattern courses)and theoretical courses(including process theory and pattern theory)related to the design history theory of Shanghai fine arts college have promoted the perfection of the design history theory framework of Shanghai fine arts college.Finally,through the research and carding of the historical development venation of the design history theory courses in Shanghai fine arts college,this paper puts forward the value of the design history theory courses teaching in Shanghai fine arts college from three aspects of " keeping pace with the times"," mutual reflection and reflection" and " market application".
