The movable Buddhist sculptures are different from the immovable sculptures and murals that in the grottoes or temples.In order to reveal the causes of Buddha statues and their role in religious activities.This paper starts from the form of Buddhist statues,combination of literature and materials,discussed the size of the ceremony of carrying the Buddhist statues moving around the city in ancient India and the northern and southern dynasties,the forms and functions of the statue of tower?the statue of stele and the back-screen statues,the choice of the forms of gold-copper or lacquer-wood Buddhist statues,and the display of the scroll binding amphibious paintings in Shuilu Liberation Ceremony and related problems.Buddhist statues serve to promote Buddhist thought.The choice of the form of the statues reflects the evolution process of the localization of Buddhism to varying degrees,and so do the behaviors and belief patterns of the believers.The different forms of statues have influence on the location,scale and mode of worship of religious ceremonies.Religious rituals also show limits and restrictions on the form of Buddhist sculptures.
