Investigation And Research On The Language Landscape Of Dandong City

As one of the hot topics in the field of applied linguistics and sociolinguistics in recent years,the language landscape has received more and more attention from scholars.However,there is little research on the language landscape of Dandong,one of the largest border cities.This paper studies Dandong's language landscape from the perspective of sociolinguistics,which has important guiding significance and social and cultural theoretical value for the standardization of Dandong language landscape.This article is divided into three chapters:The first chapter analyzes the basic situation of language landscape in Dandong based on the corpus collected.In this chapter,a quantitative approach was used to investigate the language signs and civic oral language features of the Dandong language landscape,and the survey objects,survey methods,survey contents,and basic survey results were discussed.The survey results were from the language features and characters of the market sign language.The analysis of the features of words and the appearance of citizen's spoken language,and summarizing the main features of Dandong's language landscape,namely the two languages in Han Dynasty,the differences in official and non-official language landscapes,and the characteristics of language landscapes in border cities between China and North Korea.The second chapter puts forward the main problems in the language landscape of Dandong City,and analyzes the causes of the problems.The problems mainly include four aspects: the use of typos in the use of signs in the market,misuse of traditional characters,confusion in the use of foreign words,and the use of dialects by the public.The reason for this is mainly due to two reasons for the low socioliteracy and poor social supervision.The third chapter puts forward two suggestions for perfecting the language landscape construction of Dandong City,which is about the future development of language landscape in Dandong City.The author proposes two suggestions in all aspects.One is to improve the language and literacy of the society.To improve the literacy of the whole society,it is necessary to increase the publicity of the standardization of language and characters,and strengthen the public's understanding of laws related to language and writing.Strengthen the training of language and text knowledge,attach importance to the school's language education to students,and pay attention to the harmonious coexistence and development of dialects and Putonghua,and create a good social and language environment.The other is to improve the language management system,first of all to improve the legislation and law enforcement of language and text management,and then to make more detailed provisions on the relevant legal aspects of the language landscape,including the standardization and specification of the terminology of new ethnic minority words and Chinese text form,etc.
