Research On Ren Weichang's Figure Painting

Shanghai,from the second half of the Nineteenth Century to the early Twentieth Century,was the largest commercial port and city at that time.Its commercial prosperity and cultural development attracted a large number of artists.The painting and calligraphy market was becoming large-scale.Artists from all over the world gathered there and many people make a living by selling paintings and forming associations to protect the normal operation and the order of the market.The art of Shanghai style was formed under such a big environment.Ren Weichang was one of the pioneers of the sea painting school in the end of the Qing Dynasty.His figure painting has its unique features in the form of expression,subject content and style.He combined the traditional painting form with folk art and draws on the expressive techniques and forms of Western painting,and created a new style of painting in the late Qing Dynasty.He had gradually formed a style of personal painting,which had a profound influence on the development of modern Chinese figure painting.This paper,through the study of the language characteristics of the figure painting works of Ren Weichang,deeply grasps the painting style and painting idea of the figure painting of Ren Weichang,in order to achieve a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the art of the Ren Weichang figure painting.This article is divided into four parts to study Ren Weichang's paintings.The first part begins with the era of Ren Weichang long life,and analyzes the reasons for the formation of the artistic style of the Ren Weichang's figure painting from his career,the background of his life,education background and his experience.The second part explores the artistic style of Ren Wei's figure painting,mainly expounds the artistic expression form of his figure painting from two aspects of the figure painting of the works and the woodcut characters,and expounds the expression content of the figure painting of Ren Weichang from the subject matter of his painting,and summarizes the artistic features of the figure painting of Ren Weichang by the specific analysis of his works.The third part analyzes the strong secular characteristics of Ren Wei chang's paintings.As a member of the lower class of society,he suffered so much hardness in his short thirty-five years of life.He was extremely disappointed with the social reality at that time and expressed this emotion through his paintings.About the creation of painting,he mainly learned from Chen Hongshou and other innovative artists,and draw vitality from the endless folk art.He longed to travel like a chivalry and make a great coup,sometimes looked back and imagined the spiritual home of the quiet and transcendent of the literati.His complex and contradictory personalities endowed his works with eternal charm.His painting showed the spiritual struggle and individual ideal of a folk painter in the violent social change of the end of the nineteenth Century,and thus he endows his painting with a strong secular character.The last part of this article describes the influence and enlightenment of Ren Weichang's painting art on that time and future generations.This paper focuses on the research about the influence of Ren Weichang on Ren Xun and Ren Bonian's painting styles,and explores the important position and important role of the three term at sea in the art of sea school.Secondly,it expounds the inspiration of Ren Weichang's figure painting to the creation of modern Chinese painting.
