Social identity refers to that the individual recognizes that he or she belongs to a particular social group. At the same time,he also recognizes the emotional and value significance that is brought to him as a group member.Through social classification,he has a preference for his own group. And through the cognitive impact of groups affects the perceptions, attitudes, emotions, and behaviors of the internal and external groups. The Uyghur students living in the Mainland accept an interactive educational and cultural environment based on the Uygur and Chinese culture during their youth. The period of adolescence is the key for the development of individual social cognition.Social identity is largely established and maintained through language. When Uyghur college students enter a new environment, language becomes a symbol of group identity. The choice and use of language reflects the establishment of relationships between members of society and the identification of social identity. The proficiency of language is one of the main factors affecting the development of social cognition. Therefore, through the research on the differences in the level of cultural context and the influence of different cultures on the individual's cultural empathy and attitudes,etc..We can understand the Uygur college students' social adaptation status and attitude,as well as the influence of bilingual proficiency on social identity. This study follows the research thinking of “theory analysis—adaptation tool—actual measurement—correlation factor analysis—experimental operation”.Through a questionnaire survey of 315 Uygur college students studying in Guangzhou, the Uygur college students' social identity status and influencing factors were known.Through the implicit experimental design, the compatibility group and the incompatible group were designed to explore the implicit social identity of Uyghur college students.Through the bilingual semantic processing interference experiment, the experiment design was 2(linguistic condition)× 3(stimulus condition),we can explore the influence of the bilingual superiority effect of Uygur college students on social identity. Finally the following conclusions were drawn:(1)Uygur students showed better adaptability, emotion and interpersonal experience in Guangzhou, and they reflected that there were significant differences in diet, temples, costumes, festivals and languages between Guangzhou and Xinjiang. The most important one was language.(2)The social identity consists of two dimensions: Hometown identity and Guangzhou identity. The recognition of Hometown and Guangzhou is at a high level, both higher than themedian. The level of Guangzhou identity is slightly higher than Hometown identity. The variables affecting social identity are gender and the years of life.In the study of Guangzhou identity, the longer years of life, the college students have higher the level of identity, but there is no gender difference. In terms of Hometown identity, the longer years of life, the degree of recognition will decline slightly. At the limit of more than 10 years,There is a significant difference in the level of gender identity. The social adaptation structure of Uygur college students in Guangzhou consists of two dimensions: cultural empathy and relationship building, interpersonal interaction and unpleasant coping. The Uygur University is well-adjusted to Guangzhou's cultural situation and is in location of "more easily".And the longer the number of years of life, the better to the students will be for Guangzhou social and cultural environment. There are differences degree of adaptation in the gender between the five to ten years of life.(3)From the perspective of IAT effect, the Uygur students have higher level of cultural identification in Xinjiang than in Guangzhou, that is,Uygur students have a preference for their own cultural and social environment, and they have higher social identity with their own nation.Exploring the two variables of gender and living years would not affect the social identity implicit value.(4)Inquiring the influence of Uygur college students' bilingual proficiency on social identification,we find that the value of Guangzhou cultural context vocabulary is lower than Xinjiang, indicating that the semantic processing in Xinjiang gets more interference. And the reaction time of Uyghur longer than Chinese, indicating that in both languages, the subjects would not achieve automatic activation of Chinese semantic processing;therefore,Uyghur students are unfamiliar with Chinese, and the “bilingual advantage effect” was not reflected in Uygur students, thus it affecs their Guangzhou social recognition.
