Research On Metal Hairpins In Jin And Southern Dynasties

The research objects of this paper are the unearthed metal hairpins and hair clasps from Jin Dynasty to the Southern Dynasties.A comprehensive collection and a typology division of the metal hairpins and hair clasps are made to frame the condition of this period.Based on the historical period,the author uses visual image data and historical documents to analyze the metal hairpins and hair clasps from Jin Dynasty to the Southern Dynasties.Firstly,this paper will define the research object and space-time scope of the dissertation.On this basis,metal hairpins and metal hair clasps of this period will be studied respectively.This article divides the hairpins into ear-burrowing and non-ear-burrowing,and divides the hairpins into three sub-divisions,folds,splits,flatheads,ridges,and hollows,and analyzes theirs' develpment in different regions at different times.After finishing the data statistics and typological analysis and having a more detailed understanding of the appearance of the metal hairpin in the period of the Southern and Northern Dynasties,from the perspective of the appearance and function of the metal hairpin in the period of the Jin and Southern Dynasties,the relationship between the long hairpins and the hair bun at this period was explained.Restore the use of a group of hairpins and hair clasps and analyze the cultural significance of some special hairpins and hair clasps such as Sanzi clasp,axe-shape hairpin,halberd-shape hairpin,curette-shape hairpin and dragon-shape hairpin.After analyzing the shape and function of the metal hairpins and hair clasps in this period,this article will sort out the origin of them during the Southern and Northern Dynasties.The author will summarize the basic situation of metal hairpins and hair clasps in Qin and Han dynasties and Sui and Tang dynasties,combined with the situation of the metal hairpins and hair clasps from Jin Dynasty to the Southern Dynasties and analyze its succession and development to the Qin and Han dynasties styles and the leading and enlightening role of the Sui and Tang dynasties.
