The purpose of this study was to investigate the impulsivity of adult male inmates and its influencing factors.A questionnaire survey including demographic data,history of tobacco,alcohol and drug,Childhood Trauma Questionaire-28 item Short Form,12-item General Health Questionnaire and Patient Health Questionnaire-9,Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7,and Barratt Impulsiveness Scale was conducted on 2088 male inmates in Nanjing.The final valid questionnaire was 1804[High impulsiveness group:BIS-11>62(high part 27%of the scale)as high impulsivity screening criteria,480 people get into the group;low impulsivity group:BIS-11<52(low part 27%of the scale)as the low impulsivity group screening standard,483 people get into the group].Firstly,the impulsive characters of male inmates with different demographic data and the history of tobacco,alcohol and drug were compared and the interaction effect between demographic variables was analyzed.Secondly,the differences of psychosocial factors between high and low impulsiveness group were compared and the relationship between impulsivity and childhood abuse,mental health status,depression and anxiety was discussed.Finally,we explored the factors influencing impulsivity and impulsivity of different subtypes.EXCEL2010,SPSS22.0 and AMOS17.0 were used for data analyses,the following conclusions can be drawn:1.The impulsivity of male inmates presents regular characteristics in demography and the history of tobacco,alcohol and drug.High impulse male inmates have characteristics of multiple crimes,violent crimes,sexual crimes,drug-related crimes,rural origin,low educational level,unmarried,tobacco,alcohol and drug history.2.Impulsivity and its three dimensions were positively correlated with childhood abuse,mental health,depression and anxiety.These psychosocial factors are interrelated and have an impact on the formation of high impulsivity.3.Depression,emotional neglect have a positive predictive effect on impulsivity.Age and education level have a negative predictive effect on impulsivity.4.Depression,emotional neglect,sexual abuse,age has predictive effect on attentional impulsivity;depression,emotional abuse,history of drug abuse,age can predict motor impulsivity;emotional neglect,cultural level,physical neglect,physical abuse can predict non-planning impulsivity.
