As an important factor that been greatly concerned in the field of mental health emotion has a very important impact on individual mental health.Positive emotions could promote establishing personal resources(wang,wang,wang,&lv,2010),could lead to a sense of trust and consistency to familiar and closer others, and therefore promote individuals adapt to the environment and have a more health life.Resilience has been defined as a trait of human,it means people’s ability to coping with stress and adversity, and could develop health.Numbers researches have showed that individuals with high resilience have a higher level of positive emotion(Wang,&Wang,2013;Barbara&Fredrickson,2003;Tugade&Fredrickson,2004),and for the same environment, high resilience individuals may experience positive emotions and nagetive emotions in the same moment(Ong,Bergeman,Bisconti,&Wallace,2006).Then it is very important to clarify the difference between high and low resilience individuals on experience of emotional valence of stimuli and the underlying mechanismGross(1988)suggested that individual’s emotion could be regulated either at the input stage or the disengage stage of the attention of emotional information.Accordingly designed three experiments to test the characteristics of emotional valence experience between high and low resilient groups, and explore if the difference between high and low resilient groups is due to the regulation of the imput stage or the disengage stage of the attention of emotional information.Study 1,separating 120 participants into high and low resilient groups according to the scores on Ego-resilience scale and using the task of emotional valence experience to gain the scores of emotional valence experience.Study 2,Using the dot probe paradigm,Manipulated time of stimulus presentation, examined Whether there is a different bias to the emotional information between individuals who have different psychological resilience in the early and late stages of presentation of stimulus.Study 3,using the emotional Stroop paradigm,we examined how tong participants need to disengaged from the emotional stimulus. The results suggest that(a)high resilient group have a more positive experience about three kind of pictures compared with low resilient group;(b)in the earlier stage of attention high resilient group have a bias towards positive pictures, neither high and low resilient groups have negative bias;in the later period of attention neither high and low resilient groups have positive bias, but low resilient group have bias toward negative pictures.however,(c)for both positive and negative emotional information, high resilient group disengaged from emotional information faster than low resilient group. Conclusion, high resilient individuals have a more positive experience on positive and nature emotional stimulus,it may be due to that high resilient individuals received more positive information and disengaged more quickly from emotional information. It shows that high resilient individuals are more flexible on response to emotion(wang,2013;Waugh,Thompson,&Gotlib,2011),this provide support to the Broaden-building theory of positive emotion of Fredrickson(2001.2015).Current research explored the relationship between resilience and experience of emotional valence and the underlying mechanism, which is not only benefit to understanding of resilience, but also enriched the research about resilience and emotion flexible, which could be important to design the resilience enhance and train plan. |
