This article mainly introduces the concept of a wider place into art.The spirit of place is a problem that putting forward from the field of architecture,and then gradually expanded.Just like Jean Robertson and McDaniel in the United States,the theme of contemporary art is visual arts after 1980,where the place is one of the themes of contemporary art.In addition,in the field of art problem,more is to be discussed in the field of public art at home.Relatively speaking,place,place spirit in architecture and public art,it is more intuitive,and for other kinds of art especially easel painting,is to show a more indirect way in front of us,but it is also an important angle that we observe and explore art.And this paper attempts to combine place significance,spirit and consciousness with the China contemporary artist Yue Minjun to discuss,and the partial observation of contemporary art,trying to clarify the "place" as the theme of art is how to become a problem,and in the moment it can bring what kind of enlightenment to us.This article mainly adopts the research path:firstly,what is the place of artistic sense and spirit to make a comb;then,from the perspective of art in place of meaning and spirit,make analysis of the impact of Yue Minjun's life,work places and cultural aspects;And then reach to this place spirit and consciousness that permeating into the Yue Minjun's artistic works of concrete embodiment discussing;finally,it discusses and extends the field where the Yue Minjun art in the expansion of its ideas and thinking.Through the analysis of Yue Minjun's art,we can see that the symbol and metaphorical function of the place can be seen in Yue Minjun's works of art.However,this symbol and metaphor are related to Yue Minjun's reaction and understanding of the social and historical environment.In addition,the symbolic role of the place is also reflected in Yue Minjun's art.If the smiling face is Yue Minjun's personal symbol,the place or scene in the painting provides a symbol of society,culture and history.Through the expansion of the spirit and meaning of the place,it is also gradually involved in the discussion of Yue Minjun's artistic concept.For Yue min,many of his works are the embodiment of a kind of knowledge that he uses to express the world he perceives and understands.In fact,the artists such as Yue Minjun did not provide an artistic form for our reference,but provided an artistic concept and an angle.As for the study of Yue Minjun's art,it's not to say that everyone has to imitate him,but his art reminds us of the importance of thinking independently and the necessity of broadening and thinking deeply about art.In addition,it suggests that in the face of many current situations,we need to examine the status and history of our society,life and culture.It is necessary for us to have the mind to sink traditional Chinese culture and Western art,and to tolerate and face the courage of contemporary art shock,and to keep sober and independent thinking in many cultures.
