Research On The Construction Practice And Strategy Of Creative Cities

Since the 1970s,urban development has been faced with many problems worldwide in the accelerated pace of urbanization.In order to revitalize the city,researchers have come up with a new research field of "creative city".As a consequence of the city's economy and culture entering a new stage of development,the creative city is a relatively advanced stage of urban development.Supported by the creative industries,creative city uses various methods and technologies to solve the problems in the urban development,such as "city diseases" and "same imagine of the cities",so as to optimize and upgrade the industrial structures of the city,which is conducive to urban innovation.In recent years,developing creative industries and creative cities has become the focus of urban developments in many cities."Music city" is an integral part of the selection project in the creative cities'network established by UNESCO.Thus,this study takes it as a special perspective to observe the practice of creative city construction.Besides,there are few researches in China focusing on the combination of creative city theory and the practice in building creative city,and the research on "Music city" is insufficient in addition.After reviewing "creative cities" related literature in the recent years,this paper concludes the theory construction and practice of creative cities worldwide,and focuses on "music city".In a relatively complete theoretical framework,the practices and attempts to building the music city in different social conditions and development stages are summarized and several modes are concluded including the history mode,education mode,festival mode,government leading mode and multiple integrated mode.Furthermore,by horizontal and vertical comparison,several tips are put forward to building a "creative city" in China,including strengthening the construction of urban culture and shaping urban personality;strengthening public participation and cultivating creative talents;strengthening policy support and ensuring the implementation of ideas.
