William Burroughs is one of the representatives of American marginal culture,who is the founder of the beat generation,together with Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsburg.He is the godfather of the beat generation.After the second world war,the American people experienced several turbulence in their thinking.The literary works of William Burroughs represented the ideological changes of the postwar middle class youth in the United States.His novel creation techniques accelerated the exploration of American postmodern literature and promoted the vigorous development of postmodern literature.This study focuses on the rebellious characteristics of William Burroughs.The first chapter focuses on exploring the internal and external causes of the formation of the rebellious characteristics.The second chapter analyzes the specific manifestation of the characteristics of treason in the works from the perspective of the text.Chapter three discusses the influence of treason on American literature and culture.This study tries to explain the object,reason and performance of William Burroughs 'rebellion,as well as the practical problems that can be solved by studying William Burroughs' rebellion.
