In recent years, the modernization process of China's legal system has grown by leaps and bounds, while legal and cultural exchanges are also increasing. With general binding force, legislative texts, also called normative legal documents, are various laws and regulations issued by the national legislature. Therefore, the translation of legislative texts plays a vital role in legal translation field. The author found in the practice of translation that the use of conjunctions in legal texts has its own characteristics and was very different from other texts. The translation of conjunctions is of great significance to the logical structure of sentences and paragraphs in textual translation, however, the past studies always focused on the characteristics and vocabulary of legal language as well as the translation of sentence patterns, the study on conjunctions needs to be improved. This thesis attempts to explore the translation of causal conjunctions in legislative texts by collecting data from the Parallel Corpus of China's Law Documents(PCCLD)based on Hu Zhuangli's theory of “Textual Cohesion and Coherence”.This thesis is also aiming to conclude the translation methods and techniques of causal logical conjunctions in legislative texts and enrich the studies in this field through qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis.
