Cohesion And Coherence In English Translation Practice From Chinese Legal Theoretical Texts-the English Translation Practice Report On The Theoretical Reconstruction Of The Economic Law

Early in the 1960 s, researches of the discourse have developed rapidly. At that time, many western scholars gradually combined the discourse theories and translation studies and applied them to the field of translation. Its relevant researching results brought some new perspectives to translation by the discussion of discourse structures, cohesion and coherence. Therefore, a completed theoretical system has formed in translation practice, and guided translation. Cohesion and coherence play very important roles in texts translation and their functions should not be overlooked.Although cohesion and coherence have been discussed among many linguists, there are not deeply explorations and discussions in the field of translation. This paper selects the English translation practice of Theories Refactoring of the Economic Law. From the perspective of its contents, this book discusses the most adaptable theory on the economic law in the particular times which is come up by continuously remain advantages and remove disadvantages. The word ‘economy’ is a popular word today. Form the perspective of theoretical researches, this paper represents the theories of discourse researches, analyze the theoretical application of cohesion and coherence in English translation, and reveal the differences between Chinese and English. Chinese focuses on parataxis and express emotion and meanings by logical semantics; English emphasizes hypotaxis by using related words and strict grammar.It is visible that translators should analyze the linguistic characteristics of the original language, grasp its discourse content and logical structure, use the appropriate translation methods and apply the theories of cohesion and coherence. In this way, the version would reproduce the function of the original language accurately, be faithful to the original content and have fluent sentence structure. I have got a profound understanding of traditional Chinese medicine by completing this practice report, and the application of translation compensation also enriches the understanding of this translation method, which inspired me to use it in the later translation practice. At the same time, the practice report also spreads Chinese culture in some way and provides academic reference for the later scholars.
