Vocational identity has always been the focus of Vocational Psychology,and the level of vocational identity development among college students will directly affect their employment.Nowadays,the development of vocational identity is helpful for college students to make appropriate career choices in severe employment situations.Understanding and controlling the characteristics and influencing factors of the different vocational identity development processes among college students can contribute to the development of vocational education and employment guidance and establishment of students' career goals and occupational demands.This study will explore the impact of career social support on the vocational identity of college students,and further examine the mediating role of core self-evaluations of college students.In this study,a questionnaire survey was conducted on 770 college students from universities in Shanxi Province with the Career Social Support Scale,the Core Self-Evaluations Scale,and the self-translated Vocational Identity Status Assessment Scale.This study used multivariate analysis of variance(MANOVA)to examine the differences of demographic variables in career social support,core self-evaluations and vocational identity.Pearson correlation analysis was used to test the correlation between the three variables.The structural equation model was used to explore the predictive effect of career social support and core self-evaluations on the vocational identity of college students.Moreover,bootstrap was used to verify the mediating role of core self-evaluations between career social support and college students' vocational identity.Results of this study are as follows:(1)Career social support can significantly predict college students' vocational identity,and the various dimensions of career social support can differently predict the development process of vocational identity;(2)The core self-evaluations can significantly predict the vocational identity of college students;(3)Career social support can significantly predict core self-evaluations of college students,which will varies in different dimensions and sources of career support;(4)Core self-evaluations plays a mediating role between the relationship of career social support and vocational identity.This study enriches the domestic research on the influencing factors of collegestudents' vocational identity and the?Vocational Identity Status Assessment?has been revised,which has certain theoretical and practical significance.This research can provide basis for universities to carry out relevant career planning guidance in the future,so as to provide correct guidance and training to students in different process of vocational identity development and help them form clear career goals and values.
