The Aesthetic Characteristics Of The Image Of Landscape And Scenery In The Poems Of "Three Great Masters Of Yuanjia"

The Yuan Jia era of Liu Song Dynasty was a key period during which the style of writing changed.Due to the independence of literature,the tendency of poetry to change in the direction of formal beauty has been highlighted in this period.The writers who represented the ideological tendencies of Yuan Jia literary works,Lingyun Xie,Yanzhi Yan from the transition era of the Jin and Song dynasties and Zhao Bao were together called “Three Masters of Yuan Jia”.Their poems have their own characteristics,with numerous and varied landscapes and scenery,and are the typical representatives of aesthetic literature in the Six Dynasties,fully embodying the combination of emotion and form,the extension and transition of aesthetic sense.This thesis takes the image of landscape and scenery in the poems of “Three Masters of Yuan Jia” as the study object,focusing on the classification,expression techniques and compositional features of the images of landscapes and scenery to show the writing characteristics of landscape paintings of the three people.The highly conscious awareness of the beauty of landscapes of them can be seen from the large number of appearances of landscape and scenery in their poems and the use of various expression techniques.This paper is composed of four parts:The first part: the classification of landscape images in the poems of “Three Masters of Yuan Jia”.This part is discussed from two perspectives: different positions of the modifiers and types of sense.Some of the modifiers are before the images,including the expressions of volume,time,space,emotion,abstract meaning.Different modifiers express different feelings of the poets.Some images take adjectives as attributive and place them at the end of each line.This is a form of unique significance.This part also takes the types of sense as a perspective,focusing on the visual image,the mixed images of various senses,and the illusion images.Thus,we can see the richness of the images of the three people.The second part: the expressive techniques of landscape images used in the poems of the three people.Lingyun Xie,Zhao Bao and Yan Yanzhi have various ways to represent the images of landscape scenery.The extensive use of metaphor in poetry writing,comparing the landscape scenery to usual objects,make it more amiable and easy to approach.The use of anthropomorphic techniques makes the landscape more spiritual,showing the aesthetic feeling that the poet feels in nature.There is often a causal link between the landscape scenery image,from which we can see profound writing skills of the writers.Many of the images in poetry have been defamiliarized,such as replacing the object with one of its own characteristics,disrupting sentence elements and reversing order,which all extend the process of feeling beauty.The third part: the characteristics between the landscape scenery images of “Three Masters of Yuan Jia”.This part is mainly discussed from three aspects: contrast,repetition and interaction.There has already been a relationship between the landscape scenery images in poetry,that is,images in one poem have contrastive relationship and so do images in two different lines.And expressing the same image using different expressions or representing the poets’ specific emotions using images with the same connotation both applies the technique of repetition.The method of interaction,also known as intertextuality,can make the poetry contain more content with limited words.The techniques “Three Masters of Yuan Jia” used gives poetry the beauty of a more rigorous form,from which we can also see their pursuit of poetic beauty.The fourth part: the important factors of the formation of their aesthetic consciousness of landscape.This part,from three aspects of metaphysics,Buddhism and manor economy,illustrates the reasons for the formation of the unique aesthetic reflection of the mountains and rivers of the three people.The main innovations of this thesis are as follows:This thesis integrated the scenery images and landscape image,and define the scope of landscape scenery images.Besides,we found the usage of defamiliarization method on landscape scenery images by “Three Masters of Yuan Jia”,and digged out the causal link between images.What’s more,we summarized the techniques used to transform landscape scenery images into poems.
