The Aesthetic Research Of Guoxi's "San-yuan"

"Lin Quan Gao Zhi" is a very important theory book in the history of Chinese landscape painting, It's a book written by Guo -si According to his father Guo -xi's remarks in the Bei -song Dynasty. Many concepts and aesthetic proposition about painting were raised in the book, and "San -yuan" is one of the most familiar concept in all of them which could delegate Chinese traditional culture.This paper is divided into five sections.The first section is the introduction, in which the "San -yuan " is cited, then Guo -xi's paintings,his theory on paintings and some research work on "San -yuan" were introduced; In the Part II, the painting aesthetic roots and the development on the "yuan " will be discussed firstly; The third part analyses the aesthetic thought of Guo -xi from the aesthetic function, aesthetic creation, etc.then give a definition to " San -yuan ". " San -yuan " syncretize the characteristic of observation, composition, and creativity and it is the rules for the art of landscape painting; Part IV is the focus of this paper, the aesthetic connotation of Confucianism, Taoism and Zen contained in " San -yuan" will be expatiated according to inspection of Guo -xi's ideological background of the times, and his own experience, as well as corresponding relations between landscapes and the character of people,then in the evaluation of " San -yuan ", which referred to the "Shang -ping -yuan" aesthetic preferences of Guo -xi is to be a landscape painting guidance in future generations; The part of the conclusion points the great value of study for Guo -xi's thoery ,the " San -yuan " concept is an unlimited scope of aesthetics.In order to write this article, I read the text carefully and consult a number of others research work. A comprehensive understanding on the aesthetic thinking of Guo -xi's painting theory made me can analyse the concept of " San -yuan " by myself ,which is my largest harvest.
