The development of Chinese vocabulary is a long process of continuous inheritance, and the unearthing of underground literature has provided rich corpus resources and research space for language research. The hidden bamboo slips of warring states period by Tsinghua University(Hereinafter referred to as Tsinghua Bamboo Slips)were enshrined to Tsinghua University from Hong Kong in July 2008,which is the largest number of bamboo slips in the Warring States Period. As a precious historical relic of the Chu State during the Warring States period,Tsinghua Bamboo Slips preserved the original features of the pre-Qin classics to the greatest extent, which has greatly helped the study of history, philology, paleography and many other fields. After nearly ten years of collation and research by experts,Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(VII)was published in 2017.Although it has been published for a short time,it has achieved fruitful results and covered a wide range of fields. This paper takes all verbs in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(VII)as the research object and reveals the specific use of Chinese verbs in the Warring States period. This paper is mainly divided into three parts to study the verbs in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(VII).The first part is the exordium, which is divided into four sections. The first section introduces the reasons for choosing this topic and explains the significance of the study of verbs in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(VII).The second section introduces the current research status of Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(VII)and the related research on the unearthed literature verbs. The third section introduces the corpus used in this paper and the research methods used in the text. The fourth section, which is the general examples, explains the style of this article. The second part is the main part of the dissertation, which is divided into four chapters. The first chapter defines the criteria of verb determination in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(VII).Based on Li Zuofeng's verb determination principle, this paper mainly uses the method of combining grammar and meaning to search, sort and classify the verbs in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(VII).In the second chapter, all verbs in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(VII)are classified and interpreted. All of the verbs are divided into two parts: the modal verb and the basic verb.Among them, the modal verbs can be divided into three categories: "expressing possibility, feasibility","expressing necessity, ought" and "expressing will, attitude, hope".Basic verbs can be divided into two categories: special verbs and ordinary verbs.Special verbs denote the relations of equality, comparison, existence and order.Ordinary verbs are classified into action verbs, state verbs, directional verbs and perceptual verbs according to their semantic features. After counting the frequencies under each entry,we first analyze the relationship between the glyphs used in the bamboo slips text and Orthographic Translation;for the controversial difficult words,we summarize statements of others under the entry and give the annotations;secondly,we list the interpretation of Shuowen Jiezi, and then determine the meaning source of the word according to the Ancient Chinese Common Character Dictionary, and list the example sentences in the bamboo slips text that contain the word, indicating the source. The third chapter summarizes the new words and new meanings and the characteristics of verbs in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7).The fourth chapter is the supplement of Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(VII)to the Chinese Dictionary, which is demonstrated from three angles: supplementary entries, supplementary meanings, supplementary or advance documentary evidence. The third part is the conclusion of the article. In this part,we make an outline summary of the problems discussed in this paper.
