Tao Te Ching is the classic work both in the Taoist school and the Taoism as the religion.And it had been the common book that ideologists in every time in the Chinese history made annotations on it because of its important status in Chinese culture and the Chinese tradition of passing on the ancient culture and not creating.Li Xiyue,a Taoist lived in the Qing Dynasty.He created an alchemy school of Taoism which located in the west of China.And it had been making great influences on many people until nowadays.He annotated the book,Tao Te Ching.And this book had become the representative one of all his works.The essay is aiming at studying the important book,The annotations of Tao Te Ching.All the study mainly based on four parts,and the paper demonstrates four chapters as follows.The first chapter analyzes some questions on Li Xiyue's life and works which the book,The annotations of Tao Te Ching finally turns out to exactly belong to Li.The second part of the paper is about Li Xiyue's inner alchemy theories present in the book of The annotations of Tao Te Ching.The chapter divided into three parts.They are Nature and life,Medicines and Cultivation from which we could draw a conclusion Li's inner alchemy theories have formed into an integrated system.Nature and life are the core in this system,while Medicines is the foundation,and Cultivation is the whole description of this system.The third chapter is to explore Li's philosophy theories in the book of The annotations of Tao Te Ching.There are four aspects of this theme.One is Li's opinions on the Tao,and one is about his theories on the Heart and Nature of the people.Besides,the third one is of his recognition of Yin and Yang.,and the last one is the theories that cultivating your bodies is the same as governing a country.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes Li's features of his annotation.In this part,Li applied the author of the book The annotations of Tao Te Ching,Lao Zi's theories to explain his own work,whose opinions had always been the most authoritative.Second,Li annotated the book,The Annotations of Tao Te Ching,in inner alchemytheories,the theories of Confucianism and the theories of Yi-ology.And above all the four parts,we could learn that Li's mainly purpose on its annotations is demonstrated his inner alchemy theories.And most importantly,the book also conveys Li's theories about the Unification of the Confucianism and the Taoism in the Qing Dynasty.
