This thesis is to find out the English “listening and speaking” class habits of junior students in primary school,as well as to state the necessity of this research,from three aspects: the need for student long-term development,requirement of English teaching in primary period and reflection on education.In the thesis,the author has adopted the questionnaire method to know about the English speaking and listening habits of junior students in primary school.By the methods of case study and observation,the author observes the research object in the English class.Combined with the questions from above questionnaire and observation,the author puts forward suggestions about how to develop "listening" and "speaking" habits of junior students.The thesis contains four chapters.Chapter one organizes about previous literature by the method of literature research.Meanwhile,the learning habits and “listening and speaking” habits of junior students are defined.It also discusses the composition of their listening and speaking habits in English class.Chapter Two shows the self-compiled questionnaire of the English "listening and speaking" habits of junior students in primary school.It investigates their listening and speaking habits in English class from three aspects: their.behavior of listening and speaking in the class,as well as the influence factors.Chapter Three is designed to probe into their “listening” and “speaking” habits in the English class,by using the self-compiled class observation sheets,which aims to record three kinds of representative students' behavior sin the English class.In the Chapter Four,combined with the behaviors of three kinds of students in English class,the author tries to update the teaching methods so as to motivate students,according to the questions found in questionnaire and observation,attempts to pay attention to their emotion so as to boost their confidence,and tries to assign homework based on students different level in order to stimulate their thinking.At last,the author puts forward some optimized suggestions on how to cultivate the listening and speaking habits of junior students in the English class from three aspects and help to guide English teachers on how to cultivate those good habits.
