Recently,the young Tibetan writers group has emerged in the cultural sector,whose rich works with ethnic colors are refreshing.Among these works,there is a book The Secluded Face which is produced by Tibetan writer Gerong Zhuimei(????).This thesis revolves around the Tibetan writer Gerong Zhuimei's novel The Secluded Face to carry out a textual study within the framework of cultural translation from the perspective of Lefevere's manipulation theory.The paper reveals how ideology,poetics and patronage influence the writer's writing activities and the translator's translation practices,from which this paper analyzes the motivation and characteristics of Tibetan writers' Chinese creation,and provides a new approach to the study of ethnic minority writers' non-native language creation and translation of their works for the further reference.This paper is structured into six parts.Chapter one introduces the author's writing background,research purpose and research methods.Chapter two discusses the origin of manipulation school and Lefevere's manipulation theory.Chapter three,under the framework of Lefevere's manipulation theory,analyzes the nature and characteristics of literary translation presented in The Secluded Face which is written in the second mother language by Gerong Zhuimei as a ethnic minority writer.Chapter four describes that English translators adopt the manipulation in the translation of The Secluded Face in terms of patronage and poetics.And the use of poetics is analyzed from the perspectives of words,sentences and paragraphs.Chapter five studies the process of Tibetan writers' Chinese writing and English translation as a whole and comes up with the view of "double translation".Chapter six explains the importance of minority literature writing in enriching,developing Chinese culture and promoting the fusion of various national cultures,as well as the translation and introduction of Chinese culture to the outside world.
