Analysis Of The Pragmatic Meaning Of "??"

“Tara” is a typical adjunct auxiliary in Japanese conditional expression,which mostly means “hypothetical,consecutive causality”.For a long time,linguistic circles have focused on its grammar,textual construction and other aspects,and few studies have been made on its pragmatic meaning.However,in a large number of novels and TV works,we can find that the meaning of “tara” is rich and varied,such as request,persuasion and so on,and its usage is varied,such as the ellipsis end in “tara”,the conditional usage of,which combines different modal forms at the end of the sentence,and so on.In the process of Japanese learning,this phenomenon will cause some confusion for Chinese Japanese learners,make them unable to use “tara” accurately,and make the misuse of it occurs frequently,thus affecting daily communication.Based on the previous studies of “tara”,it is found that it has the interpersonal function of interpersonal communication and the textual function of coherence.Therefore,this thesis mainly takes the sentences of “tara” in Japanese novels and TV plays as the material,and combines the interpersonal and textual functions of systemic functional linguistics to analyze its pragmatic meaning in specific contexts.This thesis is mainly composed of introduction and three chapters.The introduction will mainly introduce the advance research on the usage and meaning of “tara”,the pragmatics of conditional expression in Japanese and the purpose,significance,content and method of this study.The first chapter will introduce the conditional meaning of different uses of “tara”,based on these conditional meanings,to analyze the pragmatic meaning of subsequent chapters.The second chapter will introduce the theory of interpersonal function and the pragmatic meaning of interpersonal function in specific context.The third chapter will introduce the theory of discourse function and the pragmatic meaning of discourse function in specific context.
