Childish Taste

Henri�Rousseau(1844-1910),a great French painter who was also regarded as a prophet of Surrealism in the 20 th century,however,his paintings were called "Primitive" by someone else.This is mainly because the theme of his paintings is allencompassing and full of fantasy,the style is simple but reveals mystery and humor,the method looks naive but the conception is natural and pure.People cannot simply classify him into a certain genre,his pursuit of human nature and freedom,his admiration and yearning for nature endow his works with unique aesthetic characteristics.Although his works were ridiculed and suppressed by the mainstream voices in the art world at that time,they were highly praised by modernist artists,which shows that his creation is of certain artistic value after all.This paper focuses on the introduction of the " Natural Taste(Zhizhuo Quwei)" and makes the research and discusses about that in Rousseau's works,it is mainly divided into four parts: the introduction part is talking about Rousseau's painting art,summarized the research background and the status,put forward the Rousseau's art style," Natural Taste(Zhizhuo Quwei)",will be helpful to the development of modern art,and establish the research's significance of this selected topic;Chapter one explains the connotation and origin of " Natural Taste(Zhizhuo Quwei)" from the perspective of aesthetics,and analyzes the presentation of artistic language features of " Natural Taste(Zhizhuo Quwei)" in paintings,especially oil paintings.The second chapter focuses on the expression of " Natural Taste(Zhizhuo Quwei)" in Rousseau's painting,analyzes the causes of artistic style from the perspective of his personal life experience and historical background,and explores the specific expression of " Natural Tast(e Zhizhuo Quwei)" in his painting from the four aspects which included pen,line,shape and color.The fourth part mainly discusses the emotional expression,and the significance of Rousseau's painting creation,concludes the inspiration and influence of his creative factors on my creation.In a word,the process of studying the artistic characteristics of " Natural Taste(Zhizhuo Quwei)" from Henry Rousseau's paintings is also a process of clarifying and reconsidering individual artistic creation.Although it was under the suppression of authority,it can still remain in the world with its unique value.It can be seen that what is presented in the "immature" picture is the ultimate thinking about the future direction of art's development in the future and the expression of human's spirit and emotion.
