Primary English unit instructional design meets the needs of the new curriculum reform and English classroom teaching reform.English unit instructional design from the perspective of cultivating students' pragmatic competence includes the basic elements,which also combines the designs of language teaching and pragmatic teaching.It changes the traditional teaching design of "prepare one lesson and teach one lesson",and plans the unit lessons more systematically.Under the cultivation of pragmatic competence,primary English unit instructional design highlights the key of primary school English teaching and promotes the optimization of other links.Through the collection and collation of mass references and data,the paper organizes the theoretical basis of primary English unit instructional design,and studies the basic characteristics and significance of primary English unit instructional design through pragmatic competence training.On this basis,this paper combines the characteristics of the primary English subject with the actual situation in the domestic primary classrooms,and attempts to design a case of primary English unit instructional design under the cultivation of pragmatic competence.A set of theory-based,practice-based primary English unit instructional design guidelines based on pragmatic competence cultivation for basic education can be applied for reference and application by other teachers.The paper is divided into six parts: The first part is the introduction.The introduction part illustrates the research origin,research purpose and research significance,as well as research ideas and methods of this research.The second part is the research status at home and abroad.Through literature research methods,the researcher combines the research status of primary school English unit instructional design,pragmatic competence cultivation and English teaching at home and abroad and reviews it.The third part is about the core concept and theoretical basis.The core concepts of pragmatic competence,unit teaching and instructional design are clarified.Primary English unit instructional design from the perspective of pragmatic competence cultivation is on account of pragmatic theory,overall language teaching theory and constructivism theory.The fourth part is the research on the current status of primary English instructional design.Questionnaire survey,interview survey and case study are applied in order to study five aspects,which include teachers' understanding of unit instructional design,its effects,usage and requirements as wellas the importance of cultivating students' pragmatic competence.The fifth part is about the connotation,influence factors,principles and methods of primary English instructional design in order to cultivating students' pragmatic competence.The paper combines the subject characteristics and the instructional design status,and works out a case of primary English instructional design from the perspective of students' pragmatic competence cultivation.However,due to the limit of researcher's teaching experience and ability,the research is still limited and needs to be improved.
