Revision And Application Of The Psychological Perception Scale

Psychological Mindedness is the ability that individuals are interested in and perceive the interaction between themselves and others on perceptions,emotions,and behaviors.In this study,The 21-item of the Psychological Mindedness Scale(PMS)revised by Shill was revised and the psychometric indexes were tested.The students of 7 college in Jiangsu province were selected by stratified sampling method,and the sample of norm was about 1023.After three revisions,the scale of PMS was formed which suitable for college students in Jiangsu Province.The researchers conducted a preliminary application study on the scale.The results are as follows:(1)The scale.One item in the original scale was deleted and two items were added to form a formal scale with 22 items and 5 dimensions.Dimension F1(belief in benefits of discussing one's problems)contains 6 items;Dimension F2(Access to feelings)and dimension F5(openness to change)both consist of 4 items;Dimension F3(willingness to discuss problems with others)includes 3 items;Dimension F4(belief in the benefits of discussing one's problem)includes 4 items.(2)Reliability.The internal consistency coefficient of each dimension of PMS was between 0.760 and 0.813;the test-retest reliability was between 0.701 and 0.805 after lweek.(3)Validity.The validity of the scale was analyzed by content validity,structure validity,criterion validity.? Content validity:The items in each dimension of the scale are all from the PMS developed by Conte(1995)and determined by the collective discussion of psychological researchers.So the validity of the questionnaire is good.?Structure validity.Exploratory factor analysis of KMO value is 0.859,the five dimensions can account for 61.546%.The revised model fitting index GFI is 0.883,RMSEA is 0.063,NFI,CFI and IFI are close to 1.The structural validity of the scale is acceptable.? Criterion validity.The total score of PM was correlated with the total score of SCS,TAS-20 and IPIP-EIS respectively.(4)The gender,urban and rural,professional norms of college students in Jiangsu province have been established.(5)Application.? Correlation between personality and psychological mindedness.The results showed that there was a correlation between IPIP-NEO-120 and PM.? Regression analysis of psychological sensibility on alexithymia,emotional intelligence,and self-awareness.The results showed that psychological sensibility can predict alexithymia,emotional intelligence and self-awareness.Conclusion:The Psychological Mindedness Scale(PMS)has good reliability and validity,and has preliminary application value.
