The Qing Dynasty was the summing-up period of ancient Chinese academy.During the 270 years of the Qing Dynasty,academic activities flourished.As far as the early Qing Dynasty is concerned,influenced by social factors such as literary inquisition and the academic interests of many scholars since the late Ming Dynasty,many scholars devoted themselves to the research of historical textual research,epigraphy textual research and Book collation.Moreover,this kind of atmosphere is flourishing day by day.By the mid-Qing Dynasty,a huge academic school emerged,which is what people call "Qianjia School".Among them,Sun Xingyan is an important nember of the school.This paper is a case study of Sun Xingyan's calligraphy,trying to analyze Sun Xingyan's calligraphy practice,theory and value as a scholar.Sun Xingyan made great achievements in collecting,inscribing,elementary school and collating,and his calligraphy also had a certain position at that time.The contacts with Qian Daxin,Bi Yuan,Huang Yi,Qian Dian,Hong Liangji and Ruan Yuan broadened Sun Xingyan's academic horizon of Jinshi and promoted his understanding of the calligraphy in Jinshi.Sun Xingyan appreciated Su Shi,Zhu Yunming and other literati calligraphy.He believed that combining his own academic and calligraphy would be the most charming calligraphy.Sun Xingyan attaches great importance to the method of learning calligraphy,emphasizing that Zhengfeng's pen,especially seal book,can not be written as a side-edge;at the same time,he pays attention to the textual research of the content of the practice,not to copy blindly,but to textual research on the content of the copy.Sun Xingyan advocates elegance in calligraphy and painting,and pays attention to brushwork.For famous calligraphers and painters of all dynasties,the words "Xiurun" and "brushwork" appear in the contents of his postscripts and paintings.Sun Xingyan,who lives in the era of diminishing postscript learning and flourishing stele learning,inevitably suffers from the influence of the calligraphy style of the times.Under the influence of academic necessity and good friends'learming of seals,Sun Xingyan's seals are becoming more sophisticated,mostly based on couplets,and the contents of the couplets are mostly in the form of collections.Sun Xingyan's seal book is a style of slightly thin lines,similar to the iron line seal,thin strokes,smooth lines,neat body,not without broad spirit.The other is slightly thick lines,smooth brush strokes,graceful ink,close knots,more vertical,close to the Jade Seal Seal;cursive handwriting is ingenious,the brush is broken,the overall style is graceful,interlaced and delicate,the contrast of single strokes is obvious,the size of the font is different,the breath is smooth;Official script line brush is graceful,the knotting rules,elegant and agile.It has the regularity of Shi chen Stele and the beauty of Cao Quan Stele.In Sun Xingyan's couplet,Li Shu inscriptions also started with round pen,occasionally with square pen and sharp pen,but all of them are elegant and elegant,with the style of Cao Quan Bei and Shi Chen Bei.
