Envy is an unpleasant emotion that occurs when an individual compares with others and is a common emotional experience.Previous studies have often focused on the negative effects of envy, with many inter-group conflicts and criminal behaviors attributed to it.There is a lot of controversy about the influence of envy on people's prosocial behavior. In the past, more research on the prosocial behavior of the jealous object under the jealous emotion, but the influence of the general prosocial behavior of the individual is rarely involved. This study further explores the role of envy in prosocial behavior. The juvenile mood was induced by setting the jealous situation, and then the willingness to help and the general prosocial behavioral tendency were measured.Experiment 1 was designed in a single factor test, recruiting 69 college students to test the envy of the subjects through the jealous situation, and then measuring the willingness of the participants in the jealous group and the control group;Experiment 2 in the experimental 1 taboo scenario Based on the improvement,54 subjects added the comparative information to the comparison target's resume to control the judges' judgment on the comparison object, which induced goodwill envy and malicious envy, and then examined the subjects under the two types of envy. The willingness to help others;Experiment 3 recruited 85 college students as experimental subjects, randomly assigned to the jealous group(45 people)and the control group(40 people),so that the subjects were enrolled in the jealous situation and then filled out the prosocial tendency scale. The main results of this study are as follows:(1)The results of experiment 1 showed that there was no significant difference in the scores of the willingness of the volunteers in the jealous group and the control group.(2)The results of experiment 2 showed that there was no significant difference between the scores of the benevolent and jealous helpers and the scores of the control group;the scores of the willingness of the charity group were significantly higher than those of the malicious jealous group;the scores of the malicious envy group were significantly lower than the control.group.(3)The results of Experiment 3 showed that there was no significant difference in the scores of the prosocial tendency scales between the jealous group and the control group. This study combines three experimental results to obtain the following conclusions:(1)The type of envy affects the prosocial behavior of the individual against the jealous object(the jealous object of the individual),and the envy has no effect on the general prosocial tendency of the individual(other than the jealous object).(2)Goodwill envy will not affect the prosocial behavior of individuals against jealous objects, and malicious envy will reduce the prosocial behavior of individuals against jealous objects;compared with good envy, the pro-social behavior of individuals against envy is more malicious than envy.less.
