The main contents is as follows:Firstly the introduction, which elaborates the research objectives and significance, the research status at home and abroad, and the theoretical basis, research methods and corpus description of this paper. Then it mainly explores the semantic origin and diachronic development of the synonymous simple positional words "Li","Nei","Zhong".It combs the development and evolution of their semantics from the Pre-Qin period to the Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties to the modern times, aiming at retrospectively understanding the characteristics of the use of the synonymous positional words in modern Chinese from the source of the word meaning. And the next, based on cognitive linguistics theory and container metaphor theory, compares the semantic similarities and differences between the three by analyzing their common collocation object characteristics under the common syntactic structure and individual syntactic structure of orientation words"Li","Nei" and "Zhong".At the end it mainly explores the origin and semantic characteristics of the compound positional words of "Li,Nei and Zhong",and makes an analysis of their choice tendency in daily use according to cognitive metaphor theory. The main contents include the reasons for the occurrence of orientation words such as "X ?/?/? ","X??/??/?? ","X-based" orientation affixes, and" ? X","? X”orientation affixes, and "X ??/? ","X ??/?"orientation affixes. The results of the inquiry indicate that the use characteristics of the positional words "Li","Nei" and "Zhong" in the syntactic structure and semantics on the synchronic level of modern Chinese are influenced by its diachronic evolution.
