With the development of the positive psychology movement,the research on happiness has been a hot spot in the field of psychology.Among many factors that affect well-being,the influence of family factor on well-being is very important.Therefore,this study takes junior high school students as the research object and selects family function,emotional intelligence and self-esteem from many factors that affect happiness to explore the influence mechanism of the three variables on junior high school students' well-being.This research investigated the family function,emotional intelligence,self-esteem and happiness of 978 junior middle school students in Guangzhou by the Family adaptability and Cohesion Scale,the Emotional Intelligence Scale,the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale and the Multiple Happiness Questionnaire.Furthermore,Using some statistical tools such as SPSS21.0,Mplus7.4 to analyze the data,the following results are obtained:(1)the family function,emotional intelligence,self-esteem and well-being of junior middle school students are all on the middle level;Junior high school students' well-being,family function and self-esteem have significant differences in demographic variables.Generally speaking,on the gender dimension,boys' happiness and self-esteem are significantly higher than that of girls;In grade dimension,the happiness,family function and its two dimensions of junior high school students were significantly higher than those of the second and third grade students of junior high school.In the dimension of parents' marital status,the happiness,family function and its two dimensions of junior high school students from divorced families were significantly lower than those of non-divorced families.(2)The mediating effect of emotional intelligence between family function and junior high school students' well-being is significant,that is,family function affects junior high school students' well-being by influencing emotional intelligence,the mediating effect accounts for 46.8% of the total effect.Moreover,in the male and female groups,the intermediation degree of boys is higher than that of girls.(3)The mediating effect of self-esteem between family function and well-being of junior high school students is significant,that is,family function affects the well-being of junior high school students through self-esteem,and the mediating effect accounts for 29.8% of thetotal effect.And in the male and female groups,the intermediation degree of the female is greater than that of the male.(4)The chain mediating effects of emotional intelligence and self-esteem between family function and junior high school students' well-being are significant.Specifically,family function can indirectly affect junior high school students' well-being through influencing emotional intelligence,the mediating effect accounts for 38.28% of the total effect.It can also affect the emotional intelligence,self-esteem,and finally affect the happiness of junior high school students,chain mediating effect accounts for 6.98% of the total effect,the effect of the former is significantly greater than the latter.Based on the above results,the results obtained in this study are as follows: the influence mechanism of family function on junior high school students' well-being mainly includes four ways: first,family function directly affects junior high school students' well-being;Family function affects junior high school students' well-being by influencing emotional intelligence,and family function affects junior high school students' well-being level by influencing self-esteem.Fourthly,family function affects emotional intelligence,self-esteem and happiness of junior high school students.In the effect that family function indirectly affects the happiness of junior high school students through emotional intelligence,the intermediary effect of boys is more significant than that of girls,while in the effect of family function indirectly affecting the happiness of junior high school students through self-esteem,the intermediary effect of girls is more significant than that of boys.Therefore,in order to enhance the happiness of junior high school students,parents and other family members should adopt a democratic and conciliatory way of communication to teenagers in daily time.Besides,they should also improve themself to create a positive image for their children.Whats?more,parents should answer children`s questions and help them timely.
