Personal growth initiative refers to the internal psychological tendency of individuals to actively make purposeful changes to achieve their own growth.Personal growth problems run through people’s lives,especially for high-level students who are developing rapidly with self-awareness.The low level of personal growth initiative will seriously affect their physical and mental health.This study used the Adolescent Personal Growth Initiative Scale(APGIS),the Multidimensional Multi-Attribution Causality Scale(MMCS),the Delaware Campus Atmosphere Scale(DSCS)Chinese Edition,and the Parenting Parenting Style Questionnaire(s-EMBU).435 senior students in primary school were interviewed to explore the characteristics of personal growth initiative and its influencing factors in upper primary school students,and further discuss the mediating role of attribution style in family education,school atmosphere and personal growth initiative.Conduct attribution training to improve students’ personal growth initiative.The study found that:(1)The primary school students’ personal growth initiative is good,the female students’ personal growth initiative level is significantly higher than that of the male students;the rural household registration students are significantly lower than the urban students in terms of growth external factors;the students who receive the honorary certificates and serve as class cadres have significant personal growth initiative levels.Higher than the students who did not receive the certificate of honor and non-class cadres.(2)The family education mode of the upper primary school students is characterized by the warmth of parents’ feelings,the perceived school atmosphere is good,the attribution style is good,and the overall tends to internal control attribution.(3)There is a significant correlation between attribution style,family education style and school atmosphere and PGI.The family education style,school atmosphere and PGI are significantly positively correlated,attribution style and personal growth.The initiative is significantly negatively correlated.(4)Parents’ emotional warmth,parental refusal and school atmosphere can significantly predict PGI,parents’ emotional warmth and school atmosphere cansignificantly predict the effort attribution,school atmosphere can significantly negatively predict the situation,luck attribution,Parental rejection of the parenting style can significantly positively predict the situational attribution,and efforts to attribute the mediating role of parental emotional warmth and school atmosphere and primary school students’ PGI.(5)Through attribution training,the student’s attribution style is improved and the personal growth initiative level is improved to a certain extent,but the effect is limited.(6)Finally,the deficiencies in this study and the prospects for the future of the study are further described...
