The craftsmanship of pottery can reflect many important information such as the characteristics and sources of ancient clay,the development of molding technology,the evolution of aesthetic concepts,the advancement of pottery technology,the cultural exchanges between different regions and production organization patterns.Han dynasty is one of the peaks of pottery industry development,low-temperature glazed pottery was invented.By studying the production process of pottery in the Han Dynasty,can understand the characteristics of the pottery process in the Han Dynasty and the history of its technological development.At present,the domestic research on the production process of Chinese pottery is mainly concentrated in the Shang Dynasty and its previous period,and the research on the production process of the Han Dynasty pottery,especially the production process of the Eastern Han Dynasty,is especially rare.expect some comprehensive theories,the research on the ceramics process in the Han Dynasty mainly studied some aspects of the ceramics process,such as the sintering method of ceramics,analysis of pigment,and analysis of glue materials.Lack of a comprehensive study on the pottery making process of the Han Dynasty,especially the Eastern Han Dynasty.The Eastern Han Dynasty Tomb of PoLiu Village,Xianyang City,Which is a noble tomb had discover 140 pieces of pottery.The pottery has unique shape,fine tires,excellent painted.The production process is perfect.This thesis will take these 140 pottery as the research object,and combine the traditional archaeological observation and modern scientific analysis to study the production process,including the ceramic raw materials,molding process,dressing and decoration process,painted pigments and glue materials,firing temperature.and firing atmosphere.Through traditional archaeological observations,the molding process,finishing and decoration process,and firing atmosphere were discovered.The different types of pottery excavated from the tomb have adopted different production methods.Three methods are used,including full-body rotation,full-body molding,mix up with wheeling and molding.Trimming,scraping and pressing are used in the trimming process.After forming and trimming,the embossed and applied ceramics and painted are used to decorate the embryo body.The ornamentation mainly has concave chords,scribed lines,and mesh patterns.There are two kinds of pottery clothes,black pottery and red pottery,then white and red painted on the pottery.X-ray fluorescence spectrometer,Scanning Electron Microscopy,energy dispersive spectrometer,and polarized light microscopy were used to analyze the chemical composition of ceramic pottery materials and observe the microstructure.GC-MS analysis of the composition of the painted adhesive material,thermal expansion of the ceramic sample to determine its original firing temperature,the conclusion is as follows.The pottery ceramics of in the Tomb of the Eastern Han Dynasty used ordinary fusible clay,which features is low-silica(44.7%-64.15%),low alumina(Al2O3 14.66%-18.2%),high flux(17.68%-21.35%).It mainly contains several components of O,Na,Mg,Al,Si,K,Ca,Ti and Fe.The pottery contains quartz,feldspar,mica,etc.,they are all angular which have no trace of artificial processing,so it is presumed to be the self-owned mineral in the clay.The components of the white and are calcium carbonate and red pigments are cinnabar,the black ceramics are iron-manganese minerals,and the red ceramics are iron red.The animal glue was used,and the firing temperature is 800 ?-965 ?.
