In human history,people have never stopped thinking about art,from realism,modernism and post-modernism to today.In different stages of art,people always face different artistic meanings.Especially after the 20 th century,the exploration of art seems to have entered a stage of accelerated development.In 1917,Marcel Duchamp put his signature urinal in the Museum,and art began to develop in an almost unexpected direction.More and more artists began to seek new ideas for the development of art,so science and technology entered the artistic field of vision and new media art was born.In recent years,the research on new media art has shown a rising trend,but there are still some deficiencies in the research on the direction of new media art communication.There are few studies on the generation of artistic significance of new media.This study takes the new media art as the research ontology,mainly from the perspective of art communication to study the production of the artistic meaning of the new media,using semiotics and cultural communication research methods to study the communication meaning of the new media art.This paper uses a series of qualitative research methods,such as in-depth interviews and works analysis,to discuss the meaning generation of new media art.The innovation of this paper is also to study the new media art using the semiotic method,and to look at the meaning generation of this art from the perspective of communication.It holds that the generation of artistic meaning of new media is a deductive process of abstracted artistic symbols in the process of communication.The emergence of new media art is also a trend of art development.It also provides a new path for the generation of artistic significance.This paper analyses the meaning generation of the new media art from three basic dimensions: the author's text,the media text and the reader's text.Chapter one analyses whether the new media art expresses its meaning from the perspective of semiotics;Chapter two mainly discusses the generation of the author's text,which plays a guiding role in the process of the generation of the artistic meaning of the new media;Chapter three analyses the coding rules of the meaning generation of the media text,and the changes of the coding rules of the media text make the new media art have some characteristics.The fourth chapter analyses the generation of the reader's text,starting from the context of the reader's text generation and the interactive factors of the reader's text,the generation of the artistic meaning of the new media.The change of the meaning generation process of new media art indicates a conceptual change of art and a change of art development in the sense of communication,and this development and change indicates a change of social representation.
