| Wonders of Ancient and Modern Times is an ancient Chinese nove collection which was selected and edited from Three Volumes of Word nd Two Volumes of Slapping by an old man holding urns.There are t Mongolian translations of Wonders of Ancient and Modern Times i n Mongolian region;one is Hasibao translation,another one is Ulan Ba torian translation.The present essay chooses the 1959's Ulan Batorian translation and Ha sibao translation which is collected in Inner Mongolia Social SciencesAcademy as the research subject and conducts a comparative study.Th e comparative study of the Ulan Batorian and Hasibaotranslation and Wo nders of Ancient and Modern Timeshas a great significance for the stu dy of the relations of Chinese and Mongolian literatures of Qing dyna sty and the translation literature,and also the theoretical studies of com parative literatures.The present research conducts translation and compar ative study and have handwrittenand printed copy statistics based on th e materials collected from China and Mongolia.About handwritten andprinted copy statistics,introduces the origin of the novel collection Wo nders of Ancient and Modern Timesfirstly and the statistics about mus eum collection of Three Volumes of Words and Two Volumes of Slappi ng.And then presents the handwritten and printed copy of Mongolian tra nslation of Wonders of Ancient and Modern Times which spread in Ch ina and Mongolia.In view of translation research,according to compar e the 1959's Ulan Batorian translation and Hasibao translationand the or iginal edition of Wonders of Ancient and Modern Times,elaborating th eir characteristics and influences on the development of Mongolian cult ure.About the comparative study,this paper expounds the different situa tions in which the two versions absorb the influence of Chinese cultur e and the differences in translation methods through comparing the 1959's Ulan Batorian translation and Hasibao translation. |
