The basic educational curriculum carries the Party's educational policies and thoughts,stipulates the educational objectives and contents,and plays a key role in cultivating people with moral integrity.Faced with complex situations such as rapid development of economy,science and technology and the profound changes of social life,the new requirements of the new era for improving the literacies of all the people,the quality of personnel training,and the new environment of the basic and comprehensive implementation of the new curriculum standard,English subject promotes the reform of English curriculum textbooks,the reform of English teaching methods and the evaluation of teaching quality.The reform of key educational activities is on the verge of arrow,but all of these require the strong professional support of English teachers,who are the key implementers of English curriculum reform.However,over the years,the development of foreign language teaching has been extremely unbalanced,and the professional level of English teachers varies from region to region.Especially in some regions,some high school English teachers' proficiency is not up to standard.Teaching methods are outdated,and the level of scientific research ability is weak.At present,some scholars have studied the professional literacies of English teachers in primary and junior middle schools.As a special learning group,senior high school students need to adapt the enhancement of learning difficulty,depth and breadth,and they are in the period of psychological weaning away from their parents,showing strong autonomy,innovation and dialectics in psychology and behavior.So English teachers need to be more strict with themselves with the adjustment of the society.However,at this stage,there are few relative studies on senior high school English teachers' professional literacy.In addition,Wanzhou,located in the hinterland of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area,is a melting furnace in the surrounding districts and counties with unique and diverse regional conditions.Therefore,it is necessary for us to investigate the professional literacies of high school English teachers in Wanzhou District and understand the current situations of English teachers' professional literacies there.This is not only the theoretical demand for enriching the regional achievements of English teachers' professional development,but also the practical need for improving the quality of education in Wanzhou District and promoting the new curriculum reform.Based on the requirements of the new curriculum standards and some viewpoints of relevant scholars,this paper clearly puts forward the connotation of senior high school English teachers' professional literacies.On the basis of reading a large number of documents,this paper carries out a survey design including the purposes,tools,objects and procedures,then carries out questionnaires and interviews on senior high school English teachers' professional literacies,next collects datas,and finally analyzes the datas of the questionnaires and interviews from the four aspects: professional knowledge;professional competence;thinking accomplishment and professional beliefs,aiming to understand the current situations of senior high school English teachers' professional literacies in Wanzhou District,and draw a conclusion about the main problems of senior high school English teachers' professional literacies in Wanzhou District from the same four aspects.Finally,according to the analysis of the research and survey results,we put forward some training strategies for improving senior high school English teachers' professional literacies from the aspects of educational administration,schools and educators,such as a new educational viewpoint,a training system for teachers' professional accomplishment,an incentive mechanism for teachers' professional accomplishment and a focus on teachers' mental health,which are suitable for improving senior high school English teachers' professional literacies in this region or the similar areas.
