English is one of the most important courses in primary school.Reading plays an important role in English course.Reading teaching has not been paid enough attention in primary school English teaching,especially in rural primary school.Based on Krashen's monitoring theory,Vygotsky's recent development zone theory and constructivism theory,this paper selects primary schools in rural areas of B city as the objects of investigation and English reading as the content of investigation,from the understanding of attitude and importance,the selection of teaching methods and contents,classroom guidance and evaluation,School resources and support,assignments,parents' participation Six dimensions were investigated by questionnaire and interview.The survey found that the main problems of English Reading Teaching in rural primary schools are: 1.Teachers pay less attention to it;2.Teaching methods are monotonous,reading guidance is not comprehensive;3.Reading evaluation methods are not diversified;4.Teachers use less kinds of teaching equipment in class.Students: 1.Students' reading face is narrow,reading attitude is poor;the quality of English reading homework is poor.The school has: 1.The school books resources are insufficient.Parents: 1.Parents' participation in students' English reading is low.This paper analyzes the causes of the problems: 1.The lack of teachers' own quality,weak teachers and unreasonable age structure;the limitation of traditional education mode;2.Students' fear of difficulties and poor autonomy in learning;3.The lack of young teachers' absorption ability and limited school funds;4.The low education level of parents,poor family learning atmosphere and lack of home school communication.On the basis of the analysis of the causes of formation,the paper puts forward the corresponding improvement strategies: 1.Strengthen the diversification of teachers' teaching methods and guidance and evaluation methods,enrich the contents of the class,strictly carry out the assignments,and set up the stratified assignments;1.Overcome the fear of difficulties,and strengthen the students' awareness of learning autonomy;3.Strengthen the school's attention,strengthen the teacher training,and reasonably allocate the school's resources;4.Strengthen the communication betweenparents and the school,and Create a good family atmosphere.This study can provide some reference for improving the teaching of reading aloud in rural primary schools.
