The Tibetan Society Described By The Officials Sent To Tibet By The Nationalist Government

During the Republic of China,the deteriorating and complicated frontier situation once made the relationship between the Republic of China's central government and the local government of Tibet a focus of domestic political and academic circles.As a result,the Central Government of the Republic of China decided to send Tibetan officials to Tibet in order to ease the gap with Tibet.These Tibetan officials made investigations and descriptions of the political,economic,cultural,religious,and customary aspects of Tibet as far as possible during their journey to Tibet,and their notes reflected the understanding of Tibetan society from the main land.This article mainly selects several representative immigrant officials,sorts out and analyzes their entry notes to Tibet,and takes the social face of Tibet as the core to present the Tibetan society in the eyes of the mainland people.At the same time,it concludes by means of comparative research.During the Republic of China,the similarities and differences between Tibetan officials and their values existed in Tibet,in an attempt to restore the original appearance of Tibetan society in the special historical period.The article studies the Tibetan society described by deported officials during the Republic of China through the following parts:The first part explains the political situation of the central and Tibetan areas under the special historical background at that time,and discusses the special features of the National Government sending officials to Tibet to Tibet Due to its nature and historical significance,these deported officials have played an important role in communicating the relationship between the Central Government and Tibet.The second part focuses on the stories of the officials who entered Tibet,discussing the characteristics of the important representative figures'entry routes,reasons and activities in Tibet during this period.Digging and then better interpreting the connotation and extension of the text of their entry notes to Tibet,in order to more objectively and comprehensively grasp the Tibetan society described by these entry officials.The third part is the focus of this thesis.Through an in-depth interpretation of the entry notes of Tibetan officials,it focuses on the description of Tibetan society,including the religious ecology,government system,daily life of nobles,economic structure,and folk customs in Tibet.They fully discussed and tried to restore the basic appearance and operation status of the local society in Tibet at that time.Secondly,through the activities of Tibetan officials in Tibet,the article further analyzes the mentality of these Tibetan officials when they visited Tibet and their understanding of Tibetan society at that time.The last part is the conclusion of this article.According to research,although there are some misunderstandings and biases in the local society of Tibet in the notes of the officials admitted to the Republic of China during the period of the Republic of China,we can learn more comprehensively by combining relevant references At that time,the local officials' knowledge of Tibetan society could effectively make up for the lack of descriptions of social features in Tibetan historical materials,and it was an important window for us to understand the local social conditions in modern Tibet.
