In response to the requirements of the new curriculum standard,Primary School English Teaching begins to shift from the past mode that emphasizes on grammar and vocabulary knowledge to the one that cultivates learners' interest in English learning and ability of daily conversation,Language learning requires a good context as a support.Learning activities based on "absorption"(mainly reading and listening)can no longer meet the requirements of the new curriculum standard for primary school English teaching, while Experiential Learning is favored by English teaching because it emphasizes the experience and operating of learning. One of the elements of Experiential Learning is the creation of learning situations.Traditional Experiential Learning aims to combine learning and practice as much as possible, and advocates"learning by doing",which is generally applicable to operational and practical learning content. With the advancement of science and technology, experiential learning has begun to emphasize the creation of a combination of virtual and real learning contexts for learners. At this point,Augmented Reality technology has unique advantages that distinguish it from other media and technologies. In recent years,Augmented Reality technology has received wide attention from all walks of life as an emerging technology. In the history of the development of technology-assisted education, the emergence of new technologies often brings new opportunities for development,so Augmented Reality will also attract attention in the field of education because of its unique characteristics. There are many types of Augmented Reality technologies.Among them,Mobile Augmented Reality is a popular form of Augmented Reality technology that enters classroom teaching because of its simple operation and convenient device carrying. This research aims to design a primary school English experiential learning activity based on Augmented Reality technology and apply it to teaching practice to test the effect and verify its influence on learner's interest and ability of daily conversation in English learning. This research is divided into the following three parts:Firstly, through literature research to clarify the relationship between Augmented Reality,Experiential Learning and Primary School English Teaching,to expounds the necessity and feasibility of the design and application of AR-based primary English experiential learning activities, and to establish a design model for primary school English experiential learning activities based on AR by analyzing the characteristics and elements of designing experiential learning activities and AR-based learning activities.Secondly, the course "How can I get there" is used as an example to design an AR-based primary English experiential learning activity process.Due to the needs of teaching experiments, the author uses Unity3D,3ds Max and other software to design and develop AR software that can be used for primary school English classroom teaching based on certain needs analysis. Finally,Use the above learning activity process to apply the "AR-based Primary English Experiential Learning Activity" to the target school using the experimental method:The experimental group used AR-based primary school English experiential learning activities, and the control group used the original multimedia-assisted teaching learning activity process. After the end of the experiment, the receipt data was collected by means of test questions, questionnaires, interviews, etc.,mainly to measure the learning effect(especially ability of daily conversation),interest of learning and satisfaction degree of learning activities between the two groups of students, and to draw conclusions by analyzing the collected data.In addition, the degree of acceptance of AR software by the experimental group students was measured by questionnaires from the three dimensions of "ease of use","usefulness" and "satisfaction".The conclusion of this experiment is:The AR-based primary school English experiential learning activity has been recognized by the experimental group students and teacher, and is conducive to improving the students' word memory and daily conversation ability, and also has a positive impact on the improvement of learning interest; The experimental group students generally accepted the AR software, and thought that the software was simple and easy to use, which can improve the effect of English learning to a certain extent.
