Research On "Thousands Of Poems"

The study objects of "Thousand Writer's Poems" do not,in the narrow sense,refer to the current edition of "Thousand Writer's Poems",but in the broad sense,refer to those which title contain "Thousand Writer's Poems".The modern current edition of"Thousand Writer's Poems" is mostly based on Xie Fangde and Wang Xiang 's"Five-character and Seven-character Thousand Writer's Poems",but in fact.the formation of "Thousand Writer's Poems" has a diachronic process.This paper sorted out the developing process of "Thousand Writer's Poems" from poetry anthology to the enlightenment book in the perspective of edition and content.This paper divided into four chapters.The first chapter combed the dynasty editions of the "Thousand Writer's Poems".Since the first publication in the Southern Song Dynasty,the "Thousand Writer's Poems" have been continuously published and widely spread.There have been three stages of the one collected and noted:Liu Kezhuang's A Cla.ssified Anthology of Popular Chinese Poems in Tang and Song Dynaties?Xie Fangde and Wang Xiang's Five-character and Seven-character Thousand Writers Poems?Li Xun's Thousand Writer s Poems Annotation.Among them,Currently Liu's A Classified Anthology of Popular Chinese Poems in Tang and Song Dynaties have four edition available,the four versions are slightly different in the catalogue and content.Xie and Wang's Five-character and Seven-character Thousand Writer Poems are the bound book of Xie Fangde's Supplement and Revised Thousand Writer's Poems and Wang Xiang's New Five-character Thousand Writer's Poems,its internal versions are diverse;Li Xun's Thousand Writer's Poems Annotation was completed in the period of Guang Xu of the Qing Dynasty,it was completed relatively late,so there was no difference in the content between these versions.This part based on mainly collection of "Thousand Writer's Poems" in National Library of China,Capital library of China,Shaanxi Library as well as Shaanxi Normal University Library and outlined the development process of"Thousand Writer's Poems" from the perspective of the diachronic version.The second chapter analyzed the content of selected poems of A Classified Anthology of Popular Chinese Poems in Tang and Song Dynaties,and investigated the source of the classification of this book.A Classified Anthology of Popular Chinese Poems in Tang and Song Dynaties is a collection of poems,which purpose of the compilation is for people to study,to practice and to have some literary responsory activities in daily life.Therefore,the content of poetry selection is comprehensive,including all aspects of natural and man-made things,its categories are classified according to the content of the selected poems detaily,based on the previous generation encyclopedia,A Classified Anthology of Popular Chinese Poems in Tang and Song Dynaties is the first version of "Thousand Writer's Poems",which provides reference for the later "Thousand Writer's Poems" in terms of theme content and editorial style."Ji ju" poetry,a special kind of poetry,was also selected in that book.It can be seen that the compilers intend to break through the conventional thinking and comprehensive compilation ideas.The third chapter studied the inheritance and innovation of Five-character and Seven-character Thousand Writer s Poems and the Annotation of Thousand Writer's Poems from the previous "Thousand Writer's Poems".Five-character and Seven-character Thousand Writer 's Poems was compiled on the basis of A Classified Anthology of Popular Chinese Poems in Tang and Song Dynaties,it only selected Five-character poems and Seven-character poems.The content of the poems was more concise and promoted the popularization of "Thousand Writer's Poems".In Five-character and Seven-character Thousand Writer's Poems,Wang Xiang made notes on selected poems,his annotations were too over-interpretational to lost the original meaning of the poem,but his creation opened up the way to annotate”Thousand Writer's Poems".Later?Li Xun deleted the poems that were not suitable for children to read in the Five-character and Seven-character Thousand Writer's Poems,and re-noted the "Thousand Writer's Poems" with quotes of many predecessors' comments in the form of textual research.After the improvement of Li Xun,"Thousand Writer's Poems"became a kind of book in the sense of enlightenment studies.The fourth chapter summarized the supplement editions,the revised editions,the reselected editions,the annotated editions as well as the new editions of "Thousand Writer's Poems" in the spreading process.The supplement editions,the revised editions and the reselected editions were appeared before the founding of New China.The supplement editions and the revised editions intended to perfect the previous of"Thousand Writer's Poems".The reselected editions was mostly re-select poetry.based on the specific intention of the compiler.As of modern times,there are some annotated editions which reinterpreted the "Thousand Writer's Poems" in a modem and easy-to-understand language to help learners better understand poetry.There are also some new editions which intended to correct the shortcomings of the old "Thousand Writer's Poems" or to adapt the "Thousand Writer's Poems" to the development of the times.
