“Language And Translation”(Mongolian edition)is a provincial academic social science journal that published by National Language and Writing Committee and Translators Association of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.The journal was formerly known as xinjiang Mongolian Language,which was published irregularly since 1982.In January 1986,it was renamed “Language and Translation”(Mongolian edition),and was officially published as a provincial quarterly.The journal was published in Todo Mongolian in 1986,and since the second half of 1987,it has been published in Todo Mongolian and Khudumu Mongolian until 1988,when the first issue of the journal was published in Khudumu Mongolian.The journal is the only academic journal in China dedicated to Mongolian translation theory and practice,and the only academic journal published in the field of Mongolian linguistics and translation theory and practice in Xinjiang.33 years since the journal was founded,publishes study results of linguistic research,translation theory and practice and it has become an academic journal that introduces Mongolian Oirat dialect and Todo Mongolian in detail at home and abroad.It filled the gap in Mongolian Oirat dialect and Todo Mongolian research and contributed to the prosperity of this research.This paper is composed of introduction,Chapter 1,Chapter 2 and conclusion.It systematically expounds the development history,content,form,characteristics and value of “Language And Translation”(Mongolian edition)in the past 33 years from1986 to 2018.Using the content analysis method and statistical analysis method,the journal research analyzes evolution of its content structure,column classification,cover design,etc.Taking 132 journals in the past 33 years as research samples,statistical analysis in the order of column name,frequency of occurrence,page changes,and chronological order of publication.In the process of its development,The Language and Translation(Mongolian Version)magazine has been constantly innovating and expanding its audience,excavating and publishing excellent works to carry forward its unique style.(1)Changes in the types of characters used.Since the second issue of 1987,tote language and Mongolian language were used together,and from the first period of1988,they were all published in Mongolian language in public.(2)Changes in the size of the layout: small 16-open paper was used from 1986 to 2008,and large16-open paper(A4)was used from 2008 to 2018.(3)The evolution of cover design.During the period from 1986 to 1994,the cover design was dominated by Mongolian element patterns with various colors.The cover of the publications from 1995-2002 is relatively consistent,without Mongolian elements.From 2004 to 2007,cover design became more simplified and consistent.With the theme of earth map,Mongolian elements were placed above or below the cover,and the title was written in Mongolian,Chinese and English.(4)In the past 33 years,132 issues of magazines have been published and 165 columns have been established,and statistical analysis was conducted on the fixed and non-fixed columns.
