Hao Jing's Poetry Research

Hao Jing, whose hometown is Lingchuan in Zezhou, is a momentous philosopher, litterateur and politician. He lived with his parents in some place between Yan and Zhao since he was little. In third year of Mongolia King-Xian(1253), he got into Jin Lianchuan Shogun – commanding office of Yuan, and put up more than 10, 000 advices after that. In the first year of Zhongtong(1260), Hao Jing was sent to Song as an ambassador, during when he was a bachelor in Hanlin, and awarded gold-tiger-credential. In the same year, he was put in prison in Yizhen by Jia Sidao for 16 years. During that time, he wrote books which up to several hundred volumes and set up theory. In March, 12 th year of Zhiyuan(1275), he finally can go north, and died of illness on the journey in the same year. His books that are still preserved today are A Continuation of The book of Later Han Dynasty for 90 volumes, and Series of Lichuan for 39 volumes.Hao Jing's poems is special in the literary world in early Yuan dynasty, especially those poems written during he was detained in Southern Song dynasty. Those poems fully show the mood of a person who can't go home, and the emotion is most deeply. Besides, his poems, including on scenery and objects, on farewell and mourning, and on calligraphy and painting, reflect the feature of that age.The theory of Hao Jing's poems was mainly influenced by Yuan Haowen who was the leader of literary world in that age and by the fashion of philosophy which was the ideological trend in that age. His poems reflect the thought trend of philosopher and show the social reality of early Yuan dynasty.The style of Hao Jing's poems was special, magnificent and powerful at early stage, while at later period it turned to implicit, dismal and deep. The origin of his poems was very profound. The ancient poems imitated those of Han, Wei and Jin dynasty. The modern-style poems took poems of Tang-dynasty and Du Fu's poems as model. Also, he made a positive promotion for poems of Jin-dynasty.
