During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the focus of Chinese Buddhism shifted from Prajna to Nirvana. At this time, the issue of mind nature was mentioned at the forefront of Buddhist discussions, and various mind theories emerged.Under such a background," Mahayana sraddhotpada sastra" put forward the theory of mind with its own characteristics, and its unique theory of mind has greatly in:fluenced the development of Chinese Buddhism."The methods of Mahayana's Chi-guan" has always been regarded as a work influenced by "Mahayana sraddhotpada sastra",especially in terms of mentality.Based on this, this article analyzes the mentality thoughts of "Mahayana sraddhotpada sastra" and "The methods of Mahayana's Chi-guan",and attempts to clarify the similarities and differences between the two.On this basis,we examine the viewpoint of "the heart of the universe" proposed by Mr.Feng Youlan on the two books, and see if "one heart" in the two books has the meaning of "the heart of the universe".This paper is generally divided into four parts. The first part mainly discusses the development of Buddhism's "mind" thoughts, which are discussed from the concept of "minds",Indian Buddhism's mind thoughts, and the early of and Southern and Northern Dynasties 's mind thoughts. The second part and the third part discuss the mentality in "Mahayana sraddhotpada sastra "and "The methods of Mahayana's Chi-guan" in detail. The fourth part is to compare the similarities and differences between the mentality thoughts of "Mahayana sraddhotpada sastra" and "The methods of Mahay ana's Chi-guan",and to examine the two from the perspective of Mr.Feng's "Heart of the Universe".Finally,it discusses the relationship between the two thoughts of mind and nature.
