The Impact Of Perfectionism On The Quality Of Friendship: An Analysis Of Chain Mediation Effects

According to Eriksson's theory of social psychological development,the main task of individual development in early adulthood is to establish intimacy and avoid loneliness.College students are in the early stage of adulthood.During this period,they received the respect and support of their peers to a certain extent,which affected the individual's social adaptation,mental health and sound personality development.The quality of friendship reflects the core content of friendship,and is an important aspect to explore the social adaptability of college students.Perfectionism is a universal psychological phenomenon that manifests itself most clearly in the student community.Perfectionism has a long history in psychological research.Through previous research,it has been found that various psychological distress,psychological disorders and mental symptoms are associated with perfectionism.With the change of environment,the interpersonal problems of college students occur frequently,and perfectionism has an important influence on the social communication of college students.Therefore,on the basis of previous studies,this study will explore the mechanism between perfectionism and friendship quality.Based on literature review,the study included rejection sensitivity and attachment as mediating variables,and explored the relationship between perfectionism,rejection sensitivity,attachment,and the quality of friendship,and the mediating role of rejection sensitivity and attachment between perfectionism and quality of friendship,the relationship among Perfectionism,rejection sensitivity,The study used a Chinese Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale,a Chinese version of the Intimate Relationship Experience Scale(ECR),a rejection sensitivity questionnaire and a friendship quality.A survey of 600 college students revealed the following results:(1)Significant gender differences in perfectionism,rejection sensitivity,attachment anxiety and friendship quality of college students,and there are significant grade differences in perfectionism,attachment and friendship quality of college students.(2)There is a significant correlation between perfectionism,rejection sensitivity,attachment and friendship quality of college students,which is consistent with the principle of mediation effect analysis.(3)College students' rejection sensitivity plays an intermediary role between perfectionism and friendship quality.(4)College students' attachment plays an intermediary role between perfectionism and friendship quality.(5)Rejection sensitivity and attachment are chain-mediated between perfectionism and friendship quality.At present,there are many related studies on the four variables of perfectionism,rejection sensitivity,attachment and quality of friendship,but they are all the research on the relationship between the two.There is no research on the relationship between the four variables.This study will enrich the theory of this aspect,provide theoretical explanation for the internal mechanism of friendship quality of college students,and help college students to better intervene in interpersonal problems.
