Post-The Journey to the West is a typical work of ancient vernacular in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, which fully reflects the linguistic phenomena such as vocabulary and grammar in modern Chinese, and has a better corpus value. The novel tells the story of Tang Banjie,Sun Xiaosheng,Zhu Yijie and Sha Mi.They are the master and apprentices who went to Lingshan to get the true solution of the Scriptures. And there are many interrogative sentences in the novel.According to the current classification method of interrogative sentences and the suspicion degree,it can be divided into enquiry sentences that need to be answered, rhetorical questions that don't need to be answered and measurement questions that represent measures. Some scholars divide enquiry sentences into specific interrogation,yes-or-no questions and so on.We only select the large number of enquiry sentences in Post-The Journey to the West as the research object, and divide them into four categories: specific interrogation, alternative question,yes-or-no question, and positive-negative interrogative sentence.According to the use of interrogative pronouns, the specific question in Post-The Journey to the West can be divided into two categories: those marked with interrogative pronouns and those that do not use interrogative pronouns. The use of interrogative pronouns is very abundant in specific interrogative sentences marked with interrogative pronouns, including "He","Zen","Shen","Na","Shui","Duo" and so on.Among them, the largest number is "He" special questions, accounting for about one-third of all specific questions, followed by "Zen" and "Shen" special questions.According to whether or not to use interrogative mood words and interrogative adverbs,we can divide the yes-or-no questions in Post-The Journey to the West into three categories: those using interrogative mood words, those using interrogative adverbs and intonation yes-or-no questions. The use of interrogative mood words is mainly "Ma",and the use of interrogative adverbs is mainly "Ke".The "Ma" sentence and "Ke" sentence are the most frequent yes-or-no questions.According to the connection of related words,we can divide the alternative questions in Post-The Journey to the West into two categories: those connected by related words and those connected by unrelated words. The use of related words is mainly based on the "Shi" category, and the largest number is "haishi...haishi..." alternative question. The distribution of this type of alternative questions is mainly in the Jianghuai Mandarin area and a part of the Wu language area. There are few positive-negative interrogative sentences in Post-The Journey to the West.According to the different sentence formats,it can be divided into two types: the "VP-neg-VP" format, which are left over from ancient Chinese, and the later "VP-neg" format. The number of "VP-neg-VP" format is twice that of "VP-neg" format. The general characteristics of the enquiry sentences in Post-The Journey to the West are as follows: the number of enquiry sentences is large, covering all types, but the distribution of them is uneven;there are various types of interrogative words and interrogative formats, and the number of disyllabic interrogative words is large;spoken words are bright, but there are still residuals of interrogative sentences in classical Chinese.
