There are numerous volumes of local chronicles in China,they recorded the history of One Party which contains politics,economic,culture,art and personage.It was honored as Encyclopedia of One Party who can more comprehensively reflect the local development and evolution process and historical and cultural connotations.Therefore,local chronicles have the functions of enlightenment,management and preservation of history,and these functions are mainly embodied in the compilation of biographies.As the best quality of Tianmen's existing records,Tianmen County Chronicle of Qianlong Complied by Zhang Xuecheng had rich content that biographies of figures account for a large proportion,and there were many innovations in style and content.So it had high historical data value and research value.In the existing version,the version collected by Integration of Chinese Local Chronicles and collected by The Palace Museum are spreaded widely and popularly.Using scientific research method to mark the punctuations in the full text,and commenting on the difficulties,correcting the incomplete parts.This will be good for people's reading and have very high practical value.On the basis of literature collation of the Palace Museum,a serious of academic research was carried out.First of all,sorting out the compilation of Tianmen County Chronicles of Qianlong,such as the codification bodies and personnel,the codification style and version spreading.In this way,a systematic and comprehensive study of county chronicles can be formed.Then,analyzing the content and characteristics of compilation.In content,according to the characters recorded in each volume,they were divided into different categories,for instance,biographies of offical,famous confucian and whom had excellent deeds.On the characterristics of compilation,firstly,perfacing each volume;secondly,riching in recorded characters and attaching importance to the authenticity of historical materials;thirdly,abandoning the idea that the former aspirations are noble and ignoble,emphasizing the poor;fourthly,breaking the rules and writing biographies for living person;fifthly,it had a strong political flavor.Lastly,making comments on its value and shortcomings.Its value mainly includes preservation of historical materials and advantageous to the spiritual civilization construction in Tianmen.Its shortcomings included the following two aspects,it was too political and had no biography for social villains.Based on the collation and research of the biographies of Tianmen County of Qianlong,on the one hand,it is conducive to deepening people's understanding of Tianmen;on the other hand,it is conducive to carrying forward Tianmen's tradition and humanistic spirit.Finally,it provides experience for the compilation of local chronicles of later generations.
