At present,China has paid more and more attention to the construction of the public cultural system.Public art museums in the society are actively extending their tentacles to explore various possibilities of cooperation,to meet people's increasingly ardent needs for culture and art in daily life.The university art museum has always been an important part of the art museum system.Until now,with the construction of more than 100,it has occupied a certain proportion in the domestic art museum with its vigorous development.However,at the present stage,its quality of development is worrying,and there are obvious shortcomings in academic research and educational resources.These two aspects are just the critical significance of the existence of university art museums.Thus,university art museums that will take on more social responsibilities in the future are very urgent to give priority to the cultivation of both professional and innovative operation mechanisms in these two aspects.In the United States,there are a large number of university art museums around the world and already has a relatively mature development mechanism.As an outstanding university art museum at its beginning,the Art Institute of Chicago has gained wide recognition in the United States and even the whole world.Its practices in research and education are able to provide reference for us.Based on the related books,digital resources,and interviews,this paper tries to present the leading development and real condition of the Art Institute of Chicago in both research and education,hoping to provide some enlightenment for the future development of the university art museum in China.
