Sergei sergeyevich prokofiev(1891.4.15--1953.3.5)is an important composer in the history of Russian music.He is the successor and innovator of tonal music creation in the 20 th century."Piano concerto no.3" is one of the composer's nine instrumental concertos.It is also one of the most famous,most frequently performed and most representative of his composing technique and style.Paper by prokofiev "third piano concerto" to study the harmony,from mode tonality,chord material,harmony,parts through the specific techniques of harmony of the logical aspects of analysis,and then refine the composer personalized harmony thinking,so as to modern music tonal music creation and research to provide the reference.The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter first introduces the characteristics of prokofiev's creation,and then elaborates the background,structural characteristics and tonal layout of the piano concerto no.The second chapter classifies and sums up the basic materials of prokofiev's works from two aspects: chord materials and modal materials.The third chapter is the study of the horizontal logic of harmony,which expounds the composer's innovation and creation of traditional tonal harmony techniques from the aspects of root tone relation and part treatment.The fourth chapter extracts the characteristics of the above techniques and summarizes prokofiev's personalized harmonic thinking.The thesis holds that prokofiev's individual harmonic thinking can be summarized as "traditional and modern eclectic harmonic thinking",and that "mediant functional thinking","harmonic stratified thinking" and "semitones leading thinking" reflect different aspects of the composer's individual harmonic thinking.
