Research On Color Words In "Xingshi Marriage Biography"

Color words are a kind of words with strong markedness in Chinese vocabulary.As a subsystem in Chinese language system,their development trajectory also reflects the change process of Chinese vocabulary from the side.As an important long vernacular novel with regional color in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties,the biography of marriage in the wake of the world is a valuable corpus for studying modern Chinese and dialects.In this paper,we choose the 1981 edition of the biography of marriage in the wake of the world(notes of the western zhou dynasty,huang suqiu school,shanghai ancient book publishing house,first edition in november 1981,second printing in february 1985)as a closed text.In order to present the general picture of the color word system of "The Legend of the Marriage of the Awakening World " :This paper combines the theory of semantic field and the methods of meaning,additional meaning,word-formation,grammatical features and so on.Chapter Ⅰ to Chapter VI is the main part of this thesis.This paper mainly sums up and arranges the color words which appear in the biography of marriage,and probes into nine color categories,such as "red,yellow,black,white,green,blue,purple,brown and gray ".Chapter VII is a thematic study.To re-examine the cultural meaning of color words in the biography of marriage,explore its deep emotional meaning and color meaning,and excavate its cultural connotation.The conclusion summarizes the conclusions and shortcomings of this study and looks forward to the future.The innovation of this paper is that it points out that red,white and black are the main color lines in the biography of marriage,among which the red color lines are the first in all color lines,which is closely related to the traditional Chinese culture advocating red.In addition,the paper also distinguishes the hierarchical development system of color words in ancient,middle and modern times,which embodies the characteristics of the combination of diachronic and synchronic studies;at the same time,it points out the differences and connections between color words,homonyms and distinguishing words,and provides a reference for the subsequent study of color words.The study of color words in the biography of the marriage of the waking world can not only show the general appearance of the system of color words in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties,but also make a whole perception of the evolution of the origin and flow of color words in the perspective of Chinese history.
