Buddhist Records of the Western World was written in the 20 th year of Zhenguan period,and it is a masterpiece introducing the Western Regions.Xuanzang was dictated by the fate of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty,he and his disciples debated and wrote together.The book has a total of twelve volumes.Because of its high research value,it has received extensive attention from scholars at home and abroad.The purpose of this paper is to study the predicate-object structure in Buddhist Records of the Western World.The article is divided into six parts.The introduction part summarizes the previous researches on Buddhist Records of the Western World and the narration structure,summarizes the research status so far and introduces the research version of this paper and proposes research methods.The conclusion part elaborates the conclusions and results of the author's research on the predicate-object structure in Buddhist Records of the Western World.Four chapters from the first to the fourth are the main part of the thesis.The first chapter studies the predicate-object structure in Buddhist Records of the Western World,which divides the predicate-object structure into two parts,the basic form and the special form.And then describe the two major forms separately.Among them,the special form of the predicate-object structure includes three kinds,which are preverbal object structure,double-objects structure and object-deletion structure.The focus of this chapter is on the two types of object structure,which are preverbal object structure,double-objects structure.The second chapter studies the predicate-object structure based on the predicate.Qualitative description and quantitative statistics are carried out on the different words of verbs,nouns,adjectives and numerals when they are the predicate.The third chapter studies the predicate-object structure based on the object.The article does not discuss the case of the sentence as an object.The object is divided into two levels of words and phrases according to the unit type.Then,according to the semantics and the word class,the words are classified in more detail.According to different structures,the phrases are classified and discussed as the object.The fourth chapter studies the semantic relationship between the predicate and the object in the predicate-object structure of Buddhist Records of the Western World,and divides the semantic relationship between the predicate and the object into six categories which are the relationship of dominance,the relationship of construction,the relationship of intention,the relationship of transitivity,the relationship of judgment and the relationship of existence and continue the further research on the base of them.
