Living Heritage Of Cultural Relics

This paper takes Cong as the object of study.This paper,based on the exploration and early literature of Cong,divides Cong into four stages: Prehistoric Times,Xia,Shang and Zhou Dynasties to Qin and Han Dynasties,Song Dynasty to Qing Dynasty and contemporary.This paper specifically discusses the cultural connotations and transmission characteristics in each period,so as to fully present the live transmission of Cong,and obtain some enlightenment on the live transmission of cultural relics.Cong in this paper mainly refers to Jade Cong and Cong utensils in a broad sense,which have been handed down or unearthed since ancient times.Firstly,Jade Cong appeared and flourished in Prehistoric Times.Jade Cong originated from Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City in Taihu Lake area,and then spread to all regions of the Yellow River,the Yangtze River and the Pearl River Basin,its cultural connotation is constantly changing and updating in the live transmission,and it has the origin value in three aspects of ritual tradition,art aesthetics and combination of square and circle.Secondly,Jade Cong continued and declined from Xia,Shang and Zhou Dynasties to Qin and Han Dynasties.As written records appeared,Cong was divided into two types: literature Cong(written)and solid Cong(square column).Literature Cong mainly inherited the ritual function of Cong and formed a systematic standard through written records;solid Cong appeared a trend of diversified use and gradually declined after the transformation.Thirdly,Cong regenerated and developed from Song Dynasty to Qing Dynasty.The rising study of Epigraphy ended the relatively isolated situation of literature Cong and solid Cong,while solid Jade Cong got new life in the present of porcelain Cong.The live transmission of Cong has developed towards practical and secular direction since then.Fourthly,the live application of Cong deepens in contemporary times.Through three ways of using decorative elements,extracting shapes of square and circle and seeking cultural connotations,Cong has been widely used in Landscape Architecture,logo and brand design,thematic cultural education activities and creative products.Cong's strong live transmission and distinct regional characteristics manifests thus.The live transmission of Cong is a life history of Cong,from which the author realizes that the live transmission of cultural relics is a process of continuous refining,a process of continuous-fractured transmission and development,and a process of repetition and innovation.In the constant exchanges of different regions at the same time,cultural relics realize the transformation and appreciation in value.Furthermore,cultural relics keep innovating and developing with the times.Contemporary live transmission of cultural relics,to a large extent,is a way to relive cultural relics.Hence,when it comes to the live application of the cultural relics,bear in mind that only conforming to the times and integrating into life can the cultural relics get new life and develop better.
